.: HID Mounting (Part 2)

I removed most of the babble about fabricating various brackets for the headlights because honestly, it was just a bunch of crap. Either way, the final product:


I had to trim the mounting bracket for the Hella headlight capsule (tungsten carbide bit made short work of it). For some reason, the picture below was an intermediate picture, I cleaned it up afterwards. I also had to trim the fiberglass bucket for the headlight, since the back of the HID module hit it and prevented adjustment of headlight level.


Afterwards, I fitted the headlights to the car (very accurately, by tossing them between the shock towers and the backs of the headlight hinges), and wired them in. Naturally, everything worked perfectly, and after only blowing up one bulb, I took some pictures that don’t really show anything:




Very cool. Okay, enough babble about lights. Let’s get back to the important stuff, which is shoehorning a tractor trailer engine into this tiny thing.
